When it was announced in 1948 at the London Motor Show, it was the fastest standard car of the time. The Jaguar XK120 had a powerful engine, beautiful design and a maximum speed of about 220 km/h (137 mph). All of the few hundred produced units were handmade. The car was a simple (yet beautiful) open construction, made mostly of ash wood and aluminium. Later versions used more aluminium and only some wooden features - most notably the dashboard. A few units remained almost intact; however, it is very hard to find a used Jaguar XK120 with all of its original parts. It's not impossible, though, but if you want to buy a completely authentic used Jaguar XK120, you have to be prepared to pay a considerably large sum of money for it. But if you finally want to become the owner of XK120, you won't regret it. After all only a few hundred of these cars were made, which is a good thing as you won't be seeing many people driving a car just like your used Jaguar XK120. Moreover, it is still a great racing car, especially in all old car competitions. Not to mention that the XK120 from Jaguar is also a real beauty and for sure can be an embellishment of every collection.
